Francis Searle directs this thriller starring Sid James and Betty Ann Davies. When Joan Clavering (Hazel Penwarden)'s father Henry (James) is killed in a staged accident orchestrated by his second wife Bertha (Davies), they learn from Henry's will that Bertha will inherit a token amount of money while Joan receives the bulk of the Clavering fortune. Enraged, Bertha sets out to prove Joan's lack of sanity and therefore inability to inherit with the help of her scheming daughter Janice (Sheila Burrell). The cast also includes Anthony Forwood, Valentine Dyall and Gerald Case.
