Double bill of French crime thrillers directed by Claude Miller. In 'Inquisitor' (1981) wealthy lawyer Jérôme Martinaud (Michel Serrault) is suspected of the rape and murder of two young girls. Although the evidence against him is only circumstantial, he is interrogated for hours by Inspector Antoine Gallien (Lino Ventura) and Inspector Marcel Belmont (Guy Marchand). He continues to protest his innocence until he discovers that his wife Chantal (Romy Schneider) has given the police a damning statement. In 'Deadly Circuit' (1983) Beauvoir (Serrault), a private investigator, tracks Catherine (Isabelle Adjani), a serial murderer, across Europe. Haunted by memories of his long-lost daughter, he becomes increasingly obsessed with Catherine and sees his daughter in her. When he finally confronts her, will he bring her to justice?
