Lili Taylor stars in this vampire horror directed by Abel Ferrara. New York philosophy student Kathleen Conklin (Taylor) is attacked and bitten one night by a vampire known as Casanova (Annabella Sciorra). Soon Kathleen begins to notice changes in herself and is repulsed by what she sees. Unable to stand bright daylight, she loses her taste for food and instead develops an addiction to human blood. When she meets Peina (Christopher Walken), a vampire who claims to have overcome his bloodlust, he tries to help her, but she is increasingly torn between her new cravings and her guilt.
