Gary Goddard's Masters of the Universe (1987) brings the popular animated television series He-Man and the Masters of the Universe to the big screen in a live-action fantasy adventure. On the distant planet of Eternia, the sorcerous villain Skeletor (Frank Langella) has seized Castle Grayskull and captured its guardian, the Sorceress, imprisoning the universe's source of power. He-Man (Dolph Lundgren) and his companions pursue Skeletor's forces through a cosmic key to present-day Earth, where they enlist the help of two teenagers (Courteney Cox, Robert Duncan McNeill) to prevent Skeletor from claiming absolute dominion. Featuring elaborate practical effects and Frank Langella's committed, theatrical performance as Skeletor, the film is a cult favourite of 1980s fantasy cinema. 88 Films present this Deluxe Collector's Edition with a new HD presentation and extensive physical extras.
