Orlando Bloom stars in this historical action adventure directed by Ridley Scott. Balian (Bloom) is a blacksmith haunted by the loss of his wife. Seeking salvation, his accepts his father Godfrey (Liam Neeson)'s invitation to join him on a quest to the Holy Land. Upon his arrival in Jerusalem he becomes involved in the ongoing struggle for power in the city. King Baldwin IV (Edward Norton) is dying and Guy de Lusignan (Marton Csokas) seeks to end the fragile peace between the Crusader states and the Ayyubid Sultan Saladin (Ghassan Massoud).
