Mark DiSalle and David Worth's Kickboxer (1989) is the martial arts action film that elevated Jean-Claude Van Damme to international stardom. When Eric Sloane (Dennis Alexio), American kickboxing champion, is brutally crippled in the ring by Muay Thai fighter Tong Po (Michel Qissi) in Thailand, his younger brother Kurt (Van Damme) vows revenge. Trained by the eccentric but formidable Xian Chow (Dennis Chan) in the disciplines of Muay Thai, Kurt undergoes a gruelling transformation in preparation for a rematch. The film sparked the kickboxing boom of the late 1980s and early 1990s. Lionsgate's 3-disc 4K SteelBook includes the rarely-seen International version of the film alongside the US theatrical cut, making its 4K Ultra HD premiere.
