Cult sci-fi comedy co-written and directed by John Carpenter. Four space-weary astronauts - Lt. Doolittle (Brian Narelle), Sgt. Pinback (Dan O'Bannon), Boiler (Cal Kuniholm) and Talby (Dre Pahich) - are on an extended mission to blow up unstable planets. However, their ageing ship has begun malfunctioning and when a surge of electromagnetic energy causes one of their thermostellar bombs to deploy in error, their attempts to prevent it from detonating and killing them all become increasingly desperate.
