Edward G. Robinson, Peter Graves and Jean Parker star in this crime drama directed by Hugo Fregonese. Vincent Canelli (Robinson) is in prison awaiting execution when he escapes with the help of his girlfriend Hatti (Parker). He takes several hostages including Father Slocum (Milburn Stone), the prison priest, and fellow death row inmate Peter Manning (Graves). He wants the money Manning hid before going to jail but as the police close in, Canelli's behaviour becomes increasingly violent and Manning must decide if he is willing to stand by and watch as Canelli murders the hostages one by one... The cast also includes Warren Stevens, Jack Kelly and Russell Johnson.
