Double bill of sci-fi action thrillers. In 'The Lawnmower Man' (1992), when gardener Jobe Smith (Jeff Fahey) becomes the subject of experiments by Dr. Lawrence Angelo (Pierce Brosnan), who is seeking to enhance cognitive performance using virtual reality, he becomes a genius. Along with his newfound intelligence, he develops telekinesis and telepathy and soon begins killing people who have mistreated him in the past. As Dr. Angelo tries to stop him, Jobe attempts to reach a new stage of evolution and escape his physical body entirely. In the sequel 'The Lawnmower Man 2 - Beyond Cyberspace' (1995) Jobe (Matt Frewer) is found barely alive and is forced to help perfect a powerful communications chip which could have a devastating impact on society. However, he has plans of his own in motion and only Dr. Benjamin Trace (Patrick Bergin), the founder of virtual reality, and teenage computer hacker Peter Parkette (Austin O'Brien) have any hope of stopping him.
