Japanese horror anthology comprising four segments based on stories by Edogawa Rampo. In 'Mars Canal', directed by Suguru Takeuchi, a lone man wanders a desolate landscape tormented by memories of his violent final encounter with his lover. Akio Jissôji directs 'Mirror Hell' which follows private investigator Kogoro Akechi (Tadanobu Asano), who is aiding the police as they investigate a series of brutal murders. In 'Caterpillar', directed by Hisayasu Satô, a man badly injured in the war returns home and is powerless to prevent his wife Tokiko (Yukiko Okamoto) from treating him however she pleases. Finally, Atsushi Kaneko directs 'Crawling Bugs', in which actress Fuyuo Kinoshita (Tamaki Ogawa) is endangered by her driver Aizo Masaki (Asano), who has become increasingly obsessed with her.
