ALIEN INVASION | B-HORROR | DARK COMEDY | MONSTER HORROR | COMEDY | HORROR | SCI-FI
Collection of the first four instalments of the sci-fi comedy horror franchise. In 'Critters' (1986) a group of dangerous carnivorous aliens called Krites escape from their asteroid prison and travel to Earth. Although a pair of shapeshifting intergalactic bounty hunters are hired to stop the Krites, they cannot prevent them from landing in rural Kansas where they soon begin attacking and killing the locals. 'Critters 2' (1988) is set two years later when a batch of Krite eggs left behind on Earth hatch. As the town of Grover's Bend is terrorised by the Krites, the townsfolk join forces with the returning bounty hunters in an attempt to destroy the threat for good. In 'Critters 3' (1991) Annie (Aimee Brooks), Josh (Leonardo DiCaprio) and their families are attacked by Krites who infiltrate their apartment building and begin eating anyone who gets in their way. Charlie MacFadden (Don Opper) has been hunting any Krites remaining on Earth and he races to save the imperilled residents before it is too late. Finally, 'Critters 4' (1992) follows Charlie when he is launched into space with the last two remaining Krite eggs in existence and is cryogenically frozen. He awakens in 2045 when his containment pod is found by a salvage ship but when the Krites hatch, they begin killing the crew and attempt to use the ship to return to Earth.
